Jurassic World Evolution has been out for a few days but has already broken into the hearts of players who since childhood are fascinated by these majestic creatures. Unlocking new dinosaurs or creating new ones is the strength of the game, but some of them are really difficult to unlock. The most difficult is probably the I-Rex or Indominus Rex, the creature that caused the collapse of the park in the movie Jurassic World.
In this guide, we show you how to unlock the I-Rex in Jurassic World: Evolution! It's a real challenge to get this dinosaur, but once you unlock it to satisfaction it will be very much. Before we start with the guide, we invite you to read our review of Jurassic World Evolution .
Jurassic World Evolution - How to unlock the Indominus Rex
The I-Rex is one of the most difficult dinosaurs to unlock in Jurassic World Evolution , since it can't be obtained simply through fossils found at a site during a quest of the Expedition Center or on a mission like all the other dinosaurs in the game. Instead it requires a quest and some very specific requirements. They are as follows:
- Have 4 research centers: you can have one per island, or four on one island. It is not very important where and how many you build on each island, since you probably won't get the I-Rex until the fourth island.
- Have $2,000,000 - the cost of research. It's quite expensive, but by selling dinosaurs and optimizing your facilities, you'll get there sooner or later.
- 100% Tyrannosaurus Rex genome - you will be able to get this genome on island three, Isla Tacano, but we suspect that you will need to get to island four to make sure you get it, i.e. Isla Pena, because at that point you will be able to open enough excavation sites.
- 100% Velociraptor Genome - easy. This is the most immediate requirement.
After meeting these criteria, go to the Search page under "Genetic Search" and the I-Rex will have a hexagon all to itself. Pay what is required and be prepared to pay as much to incubate it - let alone meet its demanding requirements! Congratulations you have obtained the Indominus Rex.
