How to get the treasure maps?

Treasure maps Red Dead Redemption 2 can be obtained in various ways.

You may need to search each map separately. That means there are dozens of searchers who will reward you with a map in exchange for help. Or there could be merchants who sell them or gang members who have buried treasure and you will have the honor and burden of finding it.

The map of Red Dead Redemption 2 is huge, therefore, the possibilities are multiple.

How to solve treasure maps in RDR2

Once the map is obtained, the procedure is practically the same. These are hand drawn maps in which a precise point of a larger area is indicated. It could be an illustration of a particular building near where the treasure was buried, or a strangely shaped rock. It could also be some text sentences describing where you should go. Either way, they won't always be easy to decrypt. Maps will have different levels of hints without clearly telling you where to go, and you'll need to interpret the hints correctly to find the right location.

Once you're there, a bit of shovel work will entitle you to your prize. The prize is actually not just the object you've got, or the money you've found - it's also the thrill of the hunt, the satisfaction of solving a riddle and collecting all the treasures.

Whenever we discover a treasure map, we will point it out in this constantly updated guide with the corresponding puzzle solution. In this treasure map guide you will find every detail and receive step-by-step instructions on each map that will be present in the game.

Treasure maps | Jack Hall Gang

Jack Hall's gang maps are part of the treasure maps that you can find in Red Dead Redemption 2 . These are drawings, made by gang members, pointing to the places where they buried their loot. Getting the drawing is only half the problem: once you get it, you'll have to figure out where the precise location is, based on the landmarks you draw. If you find it too difficult, we'll help you with our guide to Jack Hall's gang treasure maps.

Map #1 of Jack Hall's gang

To get the first map, you should talk to Maximo, a treasure hunter and a professional adventurer. You'll find it north of Bard's Crossing, on a cliff overlooking the Dakota River. He'll sell you the map for $10. The drawing shows a rocky hill with two spires to the right. There's a small settlement at the foot of the hill, and what looks like a river.

The hill in the picture is Caliban's Seat. You'll find it northeast where you meet Maximo, on the other side of the river. If you look at the hill from the northeast side, your view will match the image. Climb it, then descend on the ledge once you reach the campsite. Follow the ledge until you see a hole in the cliff. That's where you'll find the treasure and the next map.

Map #2 of Jack Hall's gang

The next map will take you to Cotorra Springs, a secluded place in the north of Mbarino, east of Bacchus station. When you get there, you'll notice several pools of clear water and three smoking craters, possibly geysers. If you look at the drawing, you might have an idea where to look for the treasure. There is a group of small rock formations to the west - the treasure (along with the next map) is under one of them.

Map #3 of Jack Hall's gang

The third drawing shows a tiny island in the middle of a lake, with a tall fire tree. The lake in question is O'Creagh's Run, which is in the Grizzlies East, northeast of Valentine and east of the previous map. You should approach the island from the peninsula on the west side, to avoid drowning. Once you are on the island, look for the rock shown in the image below. When you lift it, you will find the treasure underneath it.

Treasure maps | Map of Chick

Chick's treasure map in RDR2 is one of many treasure maps in the game. The solution of Chick's treasure map is far from simple, as the hints you get are quite vague. All you are told is to look inside a hollow tree somewhere. That being the case, here's our solution to Chick' Red Dead Redemption 2 s treasure map solution.

Chick's treasure map - How to solve it?

To solve Chick's treasure map in RDR 2, you will have to go to the location drawn on it. The map says, "If anything should happen to me, my earthly possessions are stored here". The map also provides a rough drawing of the location: a tree and a hole in that tree. That is where the treasure is hidden. The "only" problem is that Chick's treasure map itself doesn't give you much to do, in terms of directions. You're pretty much left to your own devices. Let's see what we can get out of it, though.

The location you are looking for is actually in the south of the Grizzlies East, right on the edge of the area. The tree you are looking for is southeast of Moonstone Pond, south of the Three Sisters, north of Emerald Station and Emerald Ranch. Look for the huge tree that shows you the map. The tree is really impressive, so it stands out. Even the hole in the tree is quite obvious. Also, if you get closer, you can also see that something is inside the hole. So, all this should be enough to help you find Chick's treasure.

Torn map of the foreigner hermit

The hermit alien in RDR2 is one of many NPCs in the game. The Hermit in Red Dead Redemption 2 is interesting because it hides a treasure map. He also has a rare rifle.

To find the location of the hermit in Red Dead Redemption 2 , you'll have to explore the extreme northeast of the map, looking for the location called Manito Glade. The location you are looking for is not too far from Willard's Rest; it is south of it. The easiest way to get your bearings is from Annesburg. From Annesburg, head directly north.

The hermit's house in Manito Glade is pretty easy to spot. It's a rickety house with No Trespassing and Keep Out signs. He really doesn't want anyone bothering him. He'll go from words to deeds by loading his gun. Let's see how we can work this out.

To get the torn treasure map #1 in Red Dead Redemption 2 , you have to kill the hermit first. Once you kill the hermit, you can loot his corpse to get a clean hat, after that, enter the house and loot everything. As for the treasure map, it is in a small drawer, to the right of a cabinet with shelves, near the window.

Where to find the other piece of the map and the revolver of Otis Miller

Otis Miller's revolver in RDR2 is one of the unique weapons in the game. To find it you need to find the locations of the torn map pieces. The first piece we found in the hermit's cottage, let's see where the second one is.

The second piece is in a small shack in the far northeast of West Elizabeth. Basically, what you have to do is follow Little Creek River all the way north. Then, go east, and there we'll find the shack we're talking about. It's got a sign warning of watchdogs and laundry hanging outside.

When you get there, the resident will attack you and send his dog, too. You'll have to kill them all. So, go into the shack and check the bedside table next to the bed to find the second piece of Torn Treasure Map.

The location of Otis Miller's revolver is called Rattlesnake Hollow. It's in the north of Cholla Springs, northwest of Armadillo Springs. There's a little hole in the rock wall you can go through. Inside you'll find a box with a revolver and a surprising amount of erotic photographs. Yes, you got that right.
