5.0 out of 5 starsBest FPS available on Xbox One
Just wow... Bethesda and ID software have done a fantastic job with this game. In my opinion, as long as you don't mind some blood and gore, this is the best FPS available for xbox one for both single player and multiplayer. I will break them down further separately.

A great FPS! Fast paced and super fun!
I remember playing this game for the first time in 2017 on the Switch. I'd played Halo and other FPS's, but this one quickly became one of my favorites. I purchased this copy for the Xbox One because I was interested in playing with higher graphics and a smoother experience. It absolutely surpassed my expectations.

Having played a lot of modern shooters, running back for health pickups and not reloading can take some getting used to, but Doom was a brutal blast. The enemy variety is absolutely terrific and the highly-polished gunplay reminds you why so many consider this series to be the grand-daddy of first-person shooters. The story's definitely not the focus here, but there's enough subtle winks and nods to keep you interested all the way to the rather surprising finish. Solid and satisfying all the way to the end of its decent-length 15 hour campaign, and multiplayer promises more hours of fun - that is, if the campaign doesn't want to make you jump back in immediately.

Expectations totally blown away
I'm a hardcore Doom fan. I downloaded Doom shareware off the id Software BBS back in the day. Doom was the first game that got me into PC gaming. Countless hours spent playing co-op with a friend over a modem and the ability to mod the game completely turned me away from console games. Doom has always been something that I personally identify with since it made a huge impact on my life. I ended up getting into game design full time because of it. Then along came Doom 3. It was good and I liked it, but it didn't feel the same. iD tried to fit Doom into the games of the time rather than adapt Doom to fit but still be Doom. With all of that said, I knew I would buy the new Doom no matter what, but I didn't expect it could ever live up to the originals. I figured it would just be another Doom 3, especially given the long troubled development time this game had.

A Brilliant and Fast Paced Reimagining!
I loved the “Doom” games back in the day, so it’s return was a welcomed announcement. This updated version is exactly as advertised. Demons from Hell attack an installation on Mars and it’s your job to take them out. Forget the old “find cover” gameplay of recent shooters. If you’re still for too long here, you won’t even make it past the first level. Lock and load! “Doom” is back and here to stay!

Awesome Gaming Experience
Having played all of the other Doom games, I was wary of this release, but couldn't help myself. What a great purchase. This has been the best gaming purchase I have made since The Witcher 3. It is action packed, fun, and creative. The harder difficulty modes are where the game really shines.
